supernaturalchanel:
“No, Audey! If you would stop walking away from me. Just please, stop. Talk to me?”
“Y-yes,” she answered through shaky, staggered breaths. “It should make you happy because… because if I would have this baby then you’d have to be reminded every fucking day of what I did. The baby would be a constant reminder of my betrayal—— is that something you’d be able to deal with? ‘Cause that’s not something I want.”
Chanel was not sure that it was a wise decision, but she needed Audey’s comforting touch again so she crossed the remainder of the room to collapse next to the distraught blonde. The huntress covered her face with her hands as the shame began to force a new wave of tears to come crashing over her; how could she have thought that it was okay to exclude Dean? She didn’t want to tell him, she couldn’t tell him, but Audey’s point was all too valid. Whether she liked it or not he was just as big a part of this as she was.
“No,” she finally mumbled into her hands. “I don’t want to.” Her hands slowly lowered as her watery gaze locked with equally pain-filled one before her, “can’t you see that I just want to take all of this back? I want it to all be over… I don’t want you or him to have to live with the memory of my mistake. And I am a wreck! Look what I did, Aud! Yours and his lives are ruined because of me.”
The words came out dripping with as much disdain as Chanel held for herself. Deep down she knew in her heart of hearts that she wanted nothing more than to keep the baby and start a family, but she was currently speaking and making decisions out of grief, shame, and contempt.
“It’s a child, Chanel,” she whispered, shaking her head numbly, “regardless of how I feel for you or Dean that doesn’t transfer to your baby. It’s not a reminder of anything, it’s a living being, and I wouldn’t…I wouldn’t ever make you do something like that.”
She curled up tighter on herself as Chanel came over, even though a part of her mind was screaming at her to simply wrap Chanel up in her arms, hold her until all of this pain went away. “I know you don’t want to, and I know this is hard, but you can’t just make this decision on your own.” She looked over at Chanel before glancing back down at her knees, “and not just because it’s Dean’s child, too, but because you just shouldn’t have to go through this alone. It’s hard and it’s painful and there should be people supporting you.”
Audey shook her head again, “Chanel, this isn’t your mistake alone, you know. It takes two to tango, and Dean’s a big boy, I’m pretty sure he knew what he was doing. I could have probably been around more often, for that matter. And nothing’s been ruined. This is a shitty situation, and it hurts, yeah, but life goes on. I’ll get over it, Chanel, and so will you, and so will Dean. No matter what kinds of decisions you’ve made, you haven’t ruined anything.”
